Deep Time
In Birkerts “the Owl Has Flown” he expresses the opinion in order experience depth within a text we must revisit it many different times. He uses religious texts as an example. This is one that I can relate to. My family reads form the Bible at least twice a day together and each of us read it on our own at least one a day. The more I revisit this book the more meaning I find hidden in its pages. My view on this text depends on what is happening in my life at the time I read it. This fits Birkerts definition because I have reread a text throughout my life time and time again and have found a different meaning each time I read it. I believe that some people can find multiple meanings hidden within a text the first time they read it. However to acquire a true depth of anything we must revisit it as much as possible as Birkerts suggests.
