Birkerts deep time

My experience with Birkerts’ idea of deep time would have to be when I attend the Nutcracker ballet. Every movement and musical note is so intentional, significant and precise. The story is timeless and whimsical, which brings out the child in me. For those few hours I am captivated, every pique and arabesque draws me in further. I find myself longing to find hidden meanings, feel something new and see the story in a new light. This whole experience relates to Birkerts ideas of depth, wisdom and resonance. Depth because of the significance and meaning not just to myself, but to the art world as a whole. Wisdom because its not self focused. And resonance because it creates a connection so profound that it has stayed with me for years.
